- 1 tsp red chilly powder
- 1 tbsp curd
- 1 tsp mustard oil

- 1/2 tsp panchphoron

- 11/2 chopped onion
- 5-7 garlic pods
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbs fennel seeds
- 3 whole kashmiri red chillies
- 3 cloves
- 2 green elachi
- 1 inch cinnamon stick
- as per taste Salt
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
Instructions to make to make Bengali Style Potato Chicken Curry
- First wash chicken with haldi powder and salt twice or thrice. Once it is done. Drain the water. Marinate the chicken with haldi powder, red chilly powder, curd, salt and mustard oil. Keep aside for 1/2 an hrs.


- Grind the masala into a paste. Keep aside...


- Heat mustard oil in a kadai. Then add sugar and panchphoran. Let it fry for few seconds. Add potatoes. Fry till t is light brown in colour. Then add the grind masalas.



- Haldi powder and bay leaf. Saute it for few minutes. Now add chicken. Fry till the raw smell of masala goes off and the chicken cooked well...Add water as needed



- Add chicken masala. Mix it well and cook for 5 minutes. Once it is done...


- Switch off the flame and add ghee and cover it for 2 minutes. So that the flavour of ghee remains in the curry. Once it is done...


- Transfer to a serving dish. Sprinke red chilly flakes and read to serve....with hot...steam rice....
